Professional Counseling Services
I provide individual and family therapy services for adults, adolescents, and children. I have participated in trainings on grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, suicide and self-harm, positive psychology/happiness, and yoga and mindfulness. I have extensive training centered on play and art therapy techniques.
When working with children, it is important to understand play is their natural language. Play therapy provides a safe environment for children to communicate their feelings and work through problems. The sessions are fun and enjoyable, and children learn problem solving skills, gain self-esteem, and develop emotional regulation skills.
Individual therapy is a joint process between the therapist and the person in therapy. It involves working together to cope with feelings, problem solve, and change behavior patterns. Therapy can consist of talking, writing, playing, drawing, music, and/or practicing different strategies depending on what method is best for you.
Family therapy can help family members improve communication and work through conflict. Sessions can include members of a family as a group or individually to discuss emotional issues and work towards solutions.
